Killing Jobs
| "By bringing Baron Hill back to Congress, Hoosiers will know that they'll have a tireless advocate for attracting new industry to Indiana. This will help existing small businesses grow and expand." www.baron2006.com |
Hill voted against the interests of America's small businesses and their ability to create jobs and provide affordable health care to their workers. (House Roll Call 17)
Hill cast a vote which would not only cripple the American mining industry, but also send American jobs overseas, increase America's dependence on foreign resources and undoubtedly endanger America's economic and national security. (House Roll Call 1032)
Tax Hiker
| "Baron Hill has always been careful with your tax dollars and supported tax cuts to give more money back to middle class Indiana families." www.baron2006.com |
Hill won't be seen as a friend of the taxpayer this fall
after he voted for a record-shattering $3 trillion dollar budget that increases
taxes on Americans by $683 billion (House Roll Call 382).
Hill voted against providing tax relief for over 20 million Americans, choosing the sham plan of raising taxes in order to cut taxes over putting more money in the pockets of hard-working Americans. (House Roll Call 1183)
Hill had the opportunity to pass an AMT patch free of tax increases, but voted with his Democrat leaders to kill it (House Roll Call 1152). Hill then voted in lock-step with his Democrat leaders to kill a clean AMT patch, instead voting for burdening tax increases that will negatively impact the competitiveness of U.S. businesses and the American economy (House Roll Call 1153).
Hill showed a commitment to raising taxes immediately after being sworn-in: His first vote elected Pelosi Speaker and his second vote made it easier to impose massive tax hikes on the American people. (House Roll Call 4)
Hill lined up once again with the Democrat Leadership to make it easier to raise taxes on the American people. He voted against a motion which would have prevented the IRS from implementing or collecting any new tax increases that the Democrats try to pass. (House Roll Call 605)
Hill voted to impose another massive tax increase at the expense of America's hard-working farmers, threatening the jobs of more than 5 million American workers. (House Roll Call 746)
In yet another example of Hill's commitment to increase taxes on hard-working Americans, Hill voted to allow yet another tax increase on homeowners. (House Roll Call 947)
Hill refused to permanently repeal the onerous Death Tax, in effect voting for a $1.35 trillion tax hike. Hill's vote seriously jeopardizes family-owned business and farms, and destroys any hope for hard-working families to pass their livelihood onto future generations. (House Roll Call 959)
Hill voted for a down payment on the "Mother of All Tax Hikes" when he supported the Democrats' package for $72 billion in tax increases. (House Roll Call 1081)
Making College Affordable
| "At a time when millions of American families are struggling to pay tuition bills, and millions more are being shut out of college all together because they cannot afford it... our rubber stamp Congress have made higher education even less accessible," Hill said. www.baron2006.com |
Hill voted against increasing college access and affordability for middle- to low-income students, against providing greater resources for Pell Grants, and against deficit reduction on behalf of taxpayers. (House Roll Call 31)
